The Tennessee State University athletics department announced changes for the 2020-21 basketball season.
All Gentry Center protective measures comply with Tennessee State University, Ohio Valley Conference, state and local guidelines. TSU Athletics will continue to evaluate this plan covering all areas. The current list of adjustments for the 2020-21 basketball season are listed below and are subject to change based upon conditions.
General Changes to Gentry Center
- Seating capacity in the Gentry Center is limited to 15 percent this season.
- A normal temperature will be required to enter the building. Temperature check devices will be located in the lobby upon entry.
- Fans and staff members are required to wear face coverings when entering, leaving and moving throughout the facility. Fans should wear face coverings when seated except while actively eating or drinking.
- Other guidelines to be determined by the Davidson County Department of Health.
Social Distancing and Seating Measures
- There will be no lower level seating for fans during the 2020-21 basketball season.
- Lower level seating will be reserved and limited to players, coaches, and game-day support staff respectively.
- Seats will be marked to create a buffer between groups to ensure social distancing is maintained.
Basketball Tickets
- Season tickets will go on sale Monday, November 30th.
- Single-game tickets will be available for advanced purchase on ticketmaster.com
- In the event that games are canceled due to COVID-19, season ticket holders will have the following options:

- Donate payment made as a tax-deductible gift to TSU Athletics; or
- Credit payment towards season tickets for 2021-22.
Student Seating
- TSU will reserve an amount of student tickets to be available on a first come, first serve basis.
- Students seating will be located in sections A, B and C for both men's and women's games.
- Additional information will be provided to students through University communication on how to request/receive tickets for the season.
Gameday Entrances
To assist with social distancing students and fans are required to enter the specified locations below.
- The fan entrance will be located on the first floor of the Gentry Center (GC1) near the Ticket Office.
- The student-entrance will be located on the third floor of the Gentry Center near Wilson Hall Residence Center (GC3). Students may only enter through this location. Students may not enter through the main lobby.
- The ADA-entrance will also be located on the third floor of the Gentry Center near Wilson Hall Residence Center (GC3). ADA seating is located on the third floor near the elevators.
Gameday Protocol
- Temperature check devices will be located at each entry point and monitored.
- Doors will open 90 minutes before tipoff for doubleheaders and single games.
- Masks or facial coverings are required to enter the Gentry Center.
- Facial coverings must remain in place at all times unless eating or drinking.
- Social distancing will be strictly enforced.
Concession Stands, Food Services and Restrooms
- Food service employees are required to wear face coverings and gloves.
- Concessions are limited to packaged container products.
- Hand sanitizer is available to guests at each point of sale or touch point.
- 6-foot-spaced markers will be implemented in concession lines.
- Restrooms will be cleaned and disinfected throughout the game and in between doubleheaders.
- Other guidelines will be determined by the Davidson County Department of Health.
Fan Engagement Elements
All home contests will be streamed live on ESPN+.
The public health guidance is evolving; therefore, TSU Athletics will constantly monitor guidelines and make the appropriate adjustments as necessary.
