Tennessee State University women's basketball second-year head coach Ty Evans announced a tough 2021-22 schedule that will feature non-conference games against Kansas, UT Chattanooga, and a pre-holiday tournament at Stetson. The Tigers will have 13 home games at the Gentry Center beginning with the home opener on November 9 against Fisk University.

"We are excited to announce our 21-22 schedule as we have assembled a challenging, competitive mixture of teams, that will undoubtedly assist us as we continue to prepare to #PressPlay," said Evans.

The Tigers will face two NCAA Qualifiers during the '21-'22 season beginning with VCU at the 34th Annual Hatters Classic and defending OVC champions Belmont (Feb. 3 and Feb. 26).

After the Fisk home-opener, the Tigers will hit the road to face Georgia State on Nov. 12 and then at Big 12 powerhouse Kansas on Nov. 14.

UT Chattanooga visits #RoarCity on Nov. 17 before a three-game road swing at North Alabama, Western Kentucky, and Nebraska Omaha to round out the first month of play.

The remaining non-conference schedule is packed in December with quality home opponents — Mercer (Dec. 5) and Kansas City (Dec. 12). Prior to the Stetson Tournament, TSU will battle local foe Lipscomb on Dec. 15.

Ohio Valley Conference play starts on December 30 with a 5:30 p.m. start against Tennessee Tech which begins OVC WBB/MBB Doubleheader.

January sees the Tigers at home against UT Martin (Jan. 6), Morehead State (Jan. 15), and Austin Peay (Jan. 22).

The push to the OVC Tournament pits the Tigers in key matchups against Belmont (Feb. 3), Murray St. on Feb 10, SIUE on Feb. 18 and Tennessee Tech on Feb. 24. The regular season concludes against OVC Preseason favorite Belmont on Feb. 26.
