Men's Basketball to Face Charleston Southern

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's basketball team continues their road stretch with Charleston Southern on Thursday evening at the Buccaneer Fieldhouse.

The Matchup: Tennessee State Tigers (3-6, 0-0 OVC) at Charleston Southern Buccaneers (3-6, 0-0 Big South)
Date/Time: Thursday, December 16 || 8:00 p.m. (EST), 7:00 p.m. (CST)
Location: Buccaneer Fieldhouse || Charleston, S.C.

Series History: This will be the first meeting between the two programs.

Last Time Out for TSU: Tennessee State began a winning streak on Sunday with a victory over Lipscomb, 73-65.  Christian Brown recorded a career-high 19 points on 8-of-10 from the field. Kenny Cooper, a transfer from WKU/Lipscomb, flirted with a double-double in his return. Cooper posted 12 points and nine rebounds, one rebound shy of his career-high. It was the second-straight victory over the crosstown rival.

Last Time Out for CSU: Charleston Southern secured their first road victory on Sunday against Tarleton State, 59-57.  The Buccaneers went on a five point run late in the game to seal the deal. Sadarius Bowser converted an "and-one" opportunity to take the lead. CSU recorded two stops in the final minute to clinch the victory. Cheikh Faye led the team with a16 points in 30 minutes. Deontaye Buskey chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds, which led the team.

Homecoming for C.B.: Christian Brown, a transfer from Georgia, shined against Lipscomb with a career-high 19 points. The South Carolina native will look to carry that momentum to his home state. Brown, from Hopkins, S.C. about 100 miles away, has registered double-digit scoring in five games thus far, including back-to-back contests.

Familiar Face: Cheikh Faye, a 6-7 forward from Senegal, transferred to CSU from Eastern Kentucky. TSU faced off against EKU twice last season, as Faye contributed 15 points off the bench in the first meeting.
