DeLAND, Fla. — For the second time at the Hatter Classic, the Tennessee State women's basketball team returns with a tournament championship, as they defeated host Stetson, 60-56, on Sunday morning.
Gia Adams led the team with 13 points along with five assists and five steals.

Alexis Pierce made her return to the State of Florida with 10 points as the Jacksonville transfer knocked down three field goals and four free throws in 24 minutes.
Tatyana Davis was the third Lady Tiger to score in double figures with 10 points.
The game was tied 17-all at the half, with each team then individually owning a quarter over the final 20 minutes.
TSU outscored Stetson 25-11 in the third quarter with the help of a 10-0 run and a 3-pointer from
Saniah Parker that put the Lady Tiger ahead 54-47.
In the fourth quarter, TSU hunkered down and withstood a later rush from the Hatters, as the hosts used an 8-0 run and trailed 50-45 with 3:03 left to play. With two seconds remaining, Yazz Wazeerud-Din knocked down a 3-pointer to put Stetson down 58-56, but
Sierra McCullough knocked down both free throws to solidify the win.
Alyssa Hargrove and Tatiana Streun each had 13 points for the Hatters.
TSU will sit idle until Ohio Valley Conference play begins on December 30 at home against Tennessee Tech.
