Men's Basketball to Host Campbellsville-Harrodsburg

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's basketball team welcomes Campbellsville University-Harrodsburg to the Gentry Center on Tuesday afternoon. Come support your Tigers for only $5 when you purchase your ticket at the Gentry Center Ticket Office. In addition, bring a toy to benefit the Nashville Children's Hospital.

Series History: This will be the first meeting between the two institutions. 

Last Time Out for TSU: Tennessee State went to overtime for the first time this season. TSU overcame a 19-point deficit and forced OT, however, fell short at South Carolina State, 90-88. The Bulldogs shot 55% in the extra period to seal the game. Marcus Fitzgerald Jr. led the team in scoring with 19 points, all of which came in the second half/OT. It was the first overtime game in 26 contests (1/2/21).

Last Time Out for CU-H: Campbellsville-Harrodsburg secured their second-consecutive victory on Thursday (12/16) as they defeated Ohio Christian University, 75-65. The Pioneers celebrated Chris Rawlins' 1,000th career point in the contest. Mason Blair led the team with 21 points on 8-of-20 from the field. Four separate players registered double-figures in points. Tyron Duncan flirted with a triple-double as he posted 15 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists.

Team Effort: Despite the loss, the Tigers fought throughout the road contest at South Carolina State. Five Tigers registered double-digit scoring, while Kassim Nicholson and Shakem Johnson posted double-doubles for TSU. Nicholson recorded his fourth double-double of the year with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Johnson tallied 10 points and 13 boards, his first double-double since  February 25, 2021.

Grand Man: Chris Rawlins, a transfer from Miami University - Hamilton (Ohio), entered the 1,000 point club in the most recent game. The junior from Louisville, KY, leads the team in scoring (15.2 ppg) and ranks second in rebounds (60). He has registered double-digit scoring in 11 of 13 games thus far.
