NASHVILLE --- The Tennessee State Tigers fell to the Morehead State Eagles, 70-66 in the Gentry Center Thursday night.

Shakem Johnson led the Tigers for the fourth time this season in scoring with 18 points, five rebounds.
Ravel Moody,
Mark Freeman and
Josh Linder rounded out the double-figure scoring corral summing a combined 37 points.

At the half, Morehead State led Big Blue by just two, 34-32. After the break, TSU's offense slowed to a halt, allowing the Eagles to go on a 12-0 run. The Tigers worked their way back to a 48-44 deficit before Morehead State's Cooper, Potter and Broome scored 31 more points to seal the Eagles' 11
th straight win.

Big Blue returns to action Saturday against Eastern Kentucky, and are now 3-15 overall, 2-13 in the Ohio Valley Conference.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Tigers kicked off the night with a layup from Johnson that propelled the Tigers to a three-point lead early.
- Evan Joyner, who made his first start, also got the chance for a slam dunk three minutes in.
- Multiple ties throughout the half proved motivation to the Tigers as Big Blue played in front of its largest crowd this season.
- Freeman scored seven, Johal hit two three-pointers and Josh Linder produced under the basket.
- With 30 seconds left on the clock, Freeman brought the ball up court and held it until the shot clock showed seven. A dish to Joyner on the wing was almost lost before Joyner regained control, passed to Johal in the corner for a three. Johal missed but his teammate Moody came up with the put-back dunk to end the half, 32-34.
- Morehead State returned from the break on an 12-0 run.
- Johal came up with the Tigers' first field goal of the second period over six minutes in, a three-pointer from the wing assisted by Freeman.
- Down 14, Big Blue quickly worked its way back to just a four-point deficit thanks to a few three-pointers from Freeman and Johal, 48-44.
- Offensive accuracy by throttled by three-point accuracy and TSU foul trouble, Big Blue sank back to as much as a 17-point deficit.
