NASHVILLE --- Aniya Williams tied for a career-high 18 kills in Tennessee State's second five-set victory of the season (25-16, 25-19, 17-25, 16-25, 15-13) Sunday night over Tennessee Tech.

The Tigers survived a late rally by the Golden Eagles after easily securing the first two sets of the evening. Set one was punctuated with a 8-2 run to close out the first TSU 25 points. An impressive .536 hitting percentage wrapped set two, as Williams went 6-for-7 with no errors while
Kendall Bullock and
Aria Holmes notched four a piece.

Hitting accuracy fell to a halt as the Tigers registered 11 kills and 11 errors slowing its momentum to a full stop while allowing Tennessee Tech to take its first set, 25-17.

The Golden Eagles' defense showed up for set four notching its sole blocks of the night. Combined with three service aces, TTU took set four, 25-16.

Big Blue closed out the night with three Williams kills, a
Mion Weldon and
Aria Holmes block and two service aces.

Williams was joined by
Aria Holmes and
Kendall Bullock, who each notched double-figure kills, 12 and 10, respectively, while
Kristian Marshall and Sofia Garcia Guerrios facilitated the offense carrying out a combined 38 assists. Gina Rivera Ortiz locked down the back row with 32 total digs while Kariely Santana Delgado and
Aniya Williams led the team in blocks. Â
