Kristian Marshall and
Aria Holmes led the Tennessee State volleyball team in the four-set defeat at crosstown rival Belmont Sunday afternoon 3-1 (25-21, 19-25, 25-18, 25-16).

Marshall notched the third double-double of her career with a 15 assist, 12 dig performance, while Holmes led the team for the first time this season with 11 kills and five blocks.

The Tigers took an early 12-7 lead on the Bruins in set one, before Taylor Floyd led BU on a 10-4 run. TSU scored just six more points for the remainder of set one, allowing Belmont a 1-0 advantage.
Set two began with a Kariley Santana Delgado kill setting the tone for the remainder of set two. Holmes notched five of her 11 kills and the Tigers' defense put up three total blocks. Down 21-14 Belmont went for only five more points before
Aniya Williams closed out set two with a TSU victory.Â
Big Blue's momentum began to waver over the course of the final two sets with a .000 hitting percentage in set three and just eight kills in set four.
Three Bruins marked double-figure kills including Kristen Clemons who played just three sets. BU setter Izzy Schauer dished out a match-high 46 assists on the way to the Bruins' second match victory of the season.
