TSU UPDATE: The Tigers split its weekend series hosting the Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech.

In its Monday night matchup, Big Blue went 2-0 in the first two sets holding TTU under 20 points in each, but the 4-6, seventh-ranked team didn't go down without a fight. The Golden Eagles broke the Tiger offense down in the next two sets, forcing a fifth with 25-17, 25-16 set three and four victories. Big Blue's well-oiled machine worked through the final set, putting down kills, serving aces and putting up blocks allowing the Tigers to win its first match in Kean Hall this season, 3-2.

Tennessee Tech returned on day two of the series with a vengeance. The Golden Eagles swept the Tigers in three sets, 25-19, 25-22, 25-15 before heading back to Cookeville. Â
ABOUT BELMONT: The Bruins sit at the bottom of the conference with just one win this spring season over Eastern Kentucky in Richmond. Belmont went 3-2 on day two of the series at EKU, after the Colonels swept the Bruins on day one.

Kristen Clemons and Laura Shoopman lead the Bruins on the offensive front with assists from Carly Mason. Rachel McBride helps the Bruins' backcourt as the libero leading with 155 total digs on the season. Taylor Floyd and Clemons are even at 23 blocks a piece helping in over 30 percent of BU's 71.5 blocking attempts.
SERIES HISTORY: Belmont leads the all-time series 23-14, but the Tigers have won the last two matches against the Bruins.
UP NEXT: The Tigers return home for the final weekend of the regular season to host Eastern Kentucky for a two-game series, including senior night Monday, March 29.
