  • The Tennessee State volleyball team finished the 2020-21 season with a with a 4-12 record. Due to the ongoing health pandemic, the Ohio Valley Conference altered its member schools' 2020-21 volleyball schedules to a spring, conference-only season with a total of 16 matches played in a two-day series against the same team over eight weeks.
  • The Tigers earned the ninth seed in the league. Only four teams were invited to the conference tournament due to COVID-19. 
  • Gina Rivera Ortiz garnered the sole OVC weekly award this season, sharing a Defensive Player of the Week title in the season opening weekend at Murray State (February 10, 2021).
  • Rivera Ortiz earned All-OVC second team honors, marking the sole placement on an All-League team this season and the first since 2018.
  • Senior hitter Aniya Williams led the team in kills with 159, hitting a team-high .249 and tied for a team-high seven service aces.
  • Running a 6-2, setters Kristian Marshall, a junior hailing from Mobile, Alabama, and Sofia Garcia Guerrios of Puerto Rico, facilitated the offense with 471 assists led by Marshall with 281.
  • The All-League selection Rivera Ortiz finished the season with 309 digs, summing a career total 1,340. In just three seasons, Rivera Ortiz has dug her way to second all-time in career digs.   
  • Junior middle blocker Aria Holmes summed 53 blocks on the season equaling 213 blocks over three seasons in blue and white. The Las Vegas native now ranks sixth in career total blocks and block assists with 185. In just one season, she has moved four spots on the all-time records list in total blocks and seven spots on the block assists list.
