EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. —
Tatyana Davis set a career-high with 29 points but a second half stumble led SIUE to a 79-72 win over Tennessee State Lady Tigers on Thursday evening.
With the loss, TSU falls to 10-9 overall and 5-3 in the OVC.
T. Davis shot 13-of-20 from the floor and pulled down three rebounds and had two assists.
Dominique Claytor had 13 points and eight rebounds but fouled out in 28 minutes.
Gia Adams had a near double-double with seven points and six assists.
TSU led 53-32 at the half before SIUE used a 12-2 run late in the third quarter to inch back into the contest. The Lady Tigers held a 63-59 lead heading into the final period.
In the fourth quarter, SIUE outscored TSU 20-9 thanks to a 12-4 run in the final 6:44 of play. The hosts scored the games last eight points.
Allie Troeckler led the Cougars with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting. SIUE finished the game with three other players in double figures.
The Lady Tigers are back in action on Saturday at Eastern Illinois at 1 p.m.
