Women's Basketball Wins 5th Straight in Comeback Fashion

NASHVILLEDominique Claytor finished with 19 points to lead the a third quarter comeback in a 66-65 win over UT Martin on Thursday afternoon. 

With the win, TSU is now on a five-game winning streak, the longest consecutive wins since the 2014-15 season when TSU finished the season 10-0 before bowing out in the NCAA Tournament. TSU's three-game OVC winning streak is the first since 2015-16 campaign when they won four straight in early January.

Claytor finished with six rebounds, three assists and two steals in 30 minutes of action. Saniah Parker added 14 points, three rebounds and three steals in 33 minutes. 

UT Martin held a 21-10 lead after the first quarter and then increased its lead to 32-21 at the half. 

TSU fought back in the third quarter thanks to a 13-0 run to put the deficit at 51-50. The Lady Tigers' trailed 53-51 at the end of the third quarter. 

The Lady Tigers fought hard in the fourth quarter and took a two point lead, 64-62, with 1:55 left as Claytor pulled down an offensive rebound and then scored on the putback. UT Martin regained the lead after made free throws from Shae Littleford and Kyannah Grant. Trailing by one with 20 seconds left, Claytor once again grabbed an offensive rebound for the game-winning bucket. 

TSU is riding its five-game winning streak into Saturday's contest with SEMO at noon on ESPN+.
