SCOUTING LIPSCOMB: The Bisons are reeling after a 63-59 loss on the road to Alabama A&M on Friday. Before that, Lipscomb won four straight but a one-point loss to Notre Dame ended what could have been a seven-game winning streak. Jacob Ognacevic leads the squad in scoring 17.9 points and pulls down 3.7 rebounds per contest. Trea Benham, Will Pruitt, and Derrin Boyd also average double figures for the Bisons with Pruitt leading the squad in rebounds per game (6.5).
JALEN'S ANGLE: Freshman Jalen Anglin had a season-best 14 points in 12 minutes off the bench against Boyce on Tuesday night. The rookie guard knocked down 4-of-6 from the outside with a pair of steals.
GRIFFIN'S GIFT: Zion Griffin had his fourth-best offensive performance against Boyce with 23 points to tie his TSU-best that was set against South Carolina State on Nov. 12. In 22 minutes, Griffin shot 11-of-13 from the field with two rebounds, two steals, two assists, and one block.
THE REAL MAKUOI: Adong Makuoi had a career-best 10 rebounds and dropped 13 points on 6-of-7 from the field in 21 minutes vs. Boyce.
FIRST TO 100: TSU has hit 100 points five times during the Penny Collins era with a perfect 5-0 mark in those wins. Of the five wins, only one victory against Alabama A&M, 106-66, on Nov 5, 2019, was the lone D1 contest to hit the century mark.
