Men's Basketball Closes Non-Conference With Afternoon Tilt on Tuesday

OPENING TIP: Tuesday is the final non-conference matchup of the season as the Tigers will face Brescia at 2 p.m.  

WHERE TO WATCH & LISTEN: TSU expanded its partnership with Cromwell Media, naming 102.1 FM The Ville as the flagship TSU men's basketball station. "The Voice of the Tigers" Greg Pogue returns for his 11th season behind the mic and will be reunited with his longtime partner Albert Dawson. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the contest not the actual tip time in doubleheader situations. The action can also be heard on the TSU Tigers app.

BRESCIA SERIES INFORMATION: Tuesday is the first meeting between TSU and Brescia. 

SCOUTING BRESCIA: Tay Smith Leads the Bearcats with 15.3 points per game and is second on the team with 6.0 rebounds per game. On the defensive end, Smith leads the Bearcats in steals with 3.1 per contest. He had a season-best 38-points vs. Indiana Southeast on Nov. 15.

Brescia has played five D1 opponents already this season dropping contests to IUPUI (101-60), Murray State (101-57), MTSU (79-52), Western Carolina (112-45), and Eastern Kentucky (122-84). 

PROGRAMS BEST NON-LEAGUE HOME RECORD: The six home wins are thus far the most non-conference wins by the Tigers during the modern OVC-era.

MOVE OVER MR. BROOKS: Dedric Boyd knocked down nine three-pointers in the win over Bryan on Saturday to tie Darryl Brook's record for the most triples dropped in a single game. The previous record came on December 8, 1989, at UT Chattanooga. Boyd hit seven of his nine in the opening 20 minutes of play before he finished with a career-best 29 points in 32 minutes of action.

FITZ' SEASON-BEST: Marcus Fitzgerald hit a season-best with 21 points in the win over Bryan in 28 minutes of play on Saturday with six assists five rebounds and three steals.

BANG, BANG, BANG: TSU knocked down a season-best 15 three-pointers against Bryan on Saturday. Before that, The Tigers had a pair of 11's twice vs. Alabama A&M and Fisk. TSU is 6-0 when hitting nine or more 3-pointers in a game.
