BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Tennessee State men's tennis team fell to Samford on Wednesday afternoon, 2-5.
In the singles competition,
Diego Britt-Alvarez secured the victory in straight sets, 6-2, 6-4. A native of Naples, Fla.,
Britt-Alvarez has earned a win in straight sets in consecutive matches.
Daniel Perez-Caraballo, a freshman from Madrid, Spain, recorded his first collegiate victory on court #5.
Perez-Caraballo defeated J.B. Pickard in straight sets, 7-6, 6-4.
Tennessee State did not force a third set in any singles pairing. The Tigers dropped all three doubles pairings, allowing Samford to earn the doubles point. TSU competed in all three matches; 6-4 on court #3 and 6-3 on courts #1 and #2.
