Men's Tennis Earns Second Straight Home Victory

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's tennis swept Christian Brothers, 6-0, in their second straight home victory.
 
The Tigers dominated the double portion of the competition with victories on all three courts. All three matches were won by two games, including a 7-5 thriller on court three. The pairing of Pierre Copin and Daniel Perez-Caraballo edged out Ignacio Mora and Javier Flores to seal the sweep in doubles competition.
 
Tennessee State won in straight sets on five of six individual courts as Leandros Misdrachis battled on court one with Flores and escaped with a 7-6 (4), 7-6 (4) positive result. Nil Moinet dominated Jojo Sandoz on court four, 6-1, 6-0, for his second straight-set victory in three matches.
 
Perez-Caraballo controlled the first set, 6-0, on court three against Alban Piranda but fell behind 0-4 in the second set. The freshman from Madrid, Spain rallied to defeat Piranda, 6-4, in straight-set fashion.
 
Maksims Kazijevs won in commanding fashion, 6-3, 6-2, on court two against Alonso Reid. Diego Britt-Alvarez owned court six against Emilian Zavala with a 6-1, 6-3 win to cap off the competition.
 
It's the first two game home winning streak for TSU since February 24, 2020. Additionally, the Tigers are 3-2 at Hadley Park this season, totaling their highest home win total since 2018. On October 5, 2018, Misdrachis and Kazijevs faced off against Christian Brothers – Misdrachis continued his winning ways with a second straight victory over the Buccaneers.
