Men's Basketball Hosts Lindenwood at 2 PM Saturday

OPENING TIP: Tennessee State returns home for a single game against Lindenwood on Saturday. The Tigers took the first meetings in St. Charles, Missouri earlier in the month. TSU is coming off a road loss to SEMO on Thursday despite an early lead. It's back on the road for TSU next week with games at Southern Indiana on Thursday and Eastern Illinois on Saturday.

WHERE TO WATCH & LISTEN: TSU expanded its partnership with Cromwell Media, naming 102.1 FM The Ville as the flagship TSU men's basketball station. "The Voice of the Tigers" Greg Pogue returns for his 11th season behind the mic and will be reunited with his longtime partner Albert Dawson. The pregame show will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the contest not the actual tip time in doubleheader situations. The action can also be heard on the TSU Tigers app.

LINDENWOOD SERIES INFORMATION: Saturday will be the second all-time meeting between TSU and Lindenwood. The Tigers took the first meeting, 60-57.  TSU trailed 39-25 with 16:33 left in regulation and tied the contest 53-all with 3:07 remaining until Adong Makuoi pulled down a rebound and finished strong with 20 seconds remaining to put TSU over the Cougars 60-57.

SCOUTING LINDENWOOD: The first-year D1 transition program has picked up seven wins already (four vs. D1 programs) along with two in OVC play (Tennessee Tech and Little Rock). Chris Childs leads the Lions in scoring 12.9 points and 2.1 assists per game this season. Childs is Lindenwood's best threat from the free throw line at 90.2 percent from the stripe. Since OVC play started, Keenon Cole has been near lights out from the outside shooting 49.1 percent. Cole is second on the team in scoring at 12.5 points per game. Kevin Caldwell Jr. is third behind Childs and Cole dropping 12.1 points per game. 

CLAY'S NEAR  TRIPLE-DOUBLE PERFORMANCE: Jr. Clay finished with 26 points, 14 assists, and seven rebounds against SEMO on Thursday. Clay tied TSU's single-game assist mark with former Tiger Neil Jones who set the record at Morehead State on Feb. 9, 1993. Even though he did not complete the triple-double, Clay recorded his fourth career double-double and first as a member of the Tigers. Clay also nearly had a double-double and/or triple-double earlier this season against High Point when he had eight points , 11 rebounds ad seven assists.
