NASHVILLE – Erica Haynes-Overton put together two solid performances this past week at home against Morehead State and Little Rock to earn her second Ohio Valley Conference Newcomer of the Week award.
The Nashville native averaged 17.0 points per game, 2.5 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 steals. Haynes-Overton logged a season-high 34 minutes against Little Rock to lead TSU with 22 points.
Her 22 points against Little Rock was her fourth 20+ point performance of the season, while her 12 points against Morehead State marks her eighth game of the season in which she has scored in double figures. Haynes-Overton is averaging 13.3 ppg on the season to go along with a team-high 26 steals.
The Tigers will be back in action this week as they are set to hit the road for two games. TSU will take on SIUE on Thursday afternoon at 3:00 p.m., followed by a matchup with Lindenwood on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
