MACOMB, IL --The Tennessee State volleyball team fell to the Western Illinois Leathernecks 3-1 (17-25, 25-23, 26-28, 23-25) Saturday on the road at Western Hall in Macomb, Illinois. The loss was their 14th in a row and dropped Tennessee State's record to 2-24 overall and 2-14 in OVC play.
The Tigers offense was paced by Celestial Miller, who finished with 18 kills on the day, accumulating a hitting percentage of .395. Jayla Holcombe added 16 and Storm White chipped in with her season's best of 15 as part of a balanced TSUÂ attack. Defensively, had two players reach double figures in digs as Celianiz Cabranes had 25 and Aleksandra Rojecka had 17. From the front row, Kennedy Davis contributed five blocks. Rojecka also had a career-high 31 assists to give her a double-double.Â

SET 2 | Tennessee State evened the match at 1-1 following a 25-23 second-set win. Tigers persevered in a back-and-forth set to win in a stanza that featured eight lead changes and was tied 13 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way. The Tigers racked up 17 kills over the course of the set.
SET 3 | Western Illinois responded to win set number three, putting Tennessee State in a two sets to one hole. The TSUÂ dropped a tight set, losing 28-26 in a stanza that was tied four times and had three lead changes.
SET 4 | Tennessee State then lost the fourth set 25-23 to finish off the match. The Tigers dropped a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured seven lead changes and was tied 12 times. Neither team opened up a lead of more than three points along the way.
