BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Erica Haynes-Overton earned her fifth Ohio Valley Conference weekly honor of the season on Tuesday morning, as the league announced her as the OVC Newcomer of the week. This marks her fourth OVC Newcomer award to go along with one Player of the Week award.
 
The Nashville native averaged 22.5 points per game, 2.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and shot 55.2 percent from the floor in two games against SEMO and Tennessee Tech.
 
Haynes-Overton recorded her 12^th and 13^th straight game of scoring 10+ points as she finished with 24 against SEMO on Thursday and 21 against Tennessee Tech on Saturday.
 
The Kansas transfer hit a big three-pointer as time expired against SEMO to send the game into overtime. Despite the loss, EHO finished with 24 points and six assists. In Saturday's contest against TTU, EHO had 0 points at the half and exploded for 21 points in the second half, leading TSU to an 81-72 win over the Golden Eagles.
 
Haynes-Overton is second in the OVC in scoring with 15.1 points per game and ranks third in steals per game with 2.4.
 
TSU will be back in action on Thursday night as they head to Kentucky to take on Morehead State. Tip-off from Morehead is set for 6:00 p.m. ET / 5:00 p.m. CT.
