CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Tennessee State women's tennis team dropped their first of two scheduled matches this weekend, as they took on Chattanooga this afternoon on the road. TSU fell 0-7 to move to 0-7 on the season.
 
Chattanooga started off the match strong by taking the doubles point, winning all three sets in the order of No. 3 (6-1), No. 2 (6-1), and No. 1 (6-2).
 
Despite not earning a point in the singles portion of the match, the Tigers had a strong showing. Jovana Nikolic was the only Tiger to win a set as she fell in three sets, 3-6, 6-3, 8-10, in a long-drawn-out battle.
 
Warona Mdlulwa (No. 1 singles), Naomi Von Bose (No. 2 singles), and Franka Sindicic (No. 6 singles) all posted one 5-7 set in their matches.
 
TSU will have a quick turnaround as they will travel to Richmond, Ky., for a Saturday afternoon matchup at Eastern Kentucky. The match is slated to begin at 1:30 p.m. CT / 2:30 p.m. ET.
