NASHVILLE – Tennessee State volleyball senior Kennedy Davis was selected to the 2023 Preseason All-OVC Team, as the league released both the Preseason Team and the Predicted Order of Finish on Wednesday morning.
 
Davis returns for her second season in the blue and white after earning All-OVC Second Team honors last season. The St. Louis native played in all 35 matches last season and finished second on the team in kills with 285, while leading the team in attack percentage with a .361. On the defensive side, Davis led the team and the OVC in blocks with 139.
 
The Tigers were picked to finish in sixth place while receiving two first-place votes in the 2023 Predicted Order of Finish.
 
Southeast Missouri and Tennessee Tech are tied for first place, followed by UT Martin in 3^rd and Eastern Illinois in 4th. Morehead sits just in front of TSU in 5^th place, while Lindenwood finds itself one spot behind the Tigers in 7th. SIUE is predicted to finish in 8^th, followed by Little Rock (9^th), Western Illinois (10^th), and Southern Indiana (11^th).

TSU will host Tennessee Southern in an exhibition match next Tuesday at 6:00 p.m. in Kean Hal for their first action of the season.l The season officially begins on August 25 as they are set to head to Macomb, Ill., to play two games in the Western Illinois Tournament. TSU will take on Murray State on Friday night, followed by a matchup with Cleveland State on Saturday.
