MOREHEAD, Ky. - The Tennessee State men's basketball team out-rebounded the Morehead State Eagles 37-32, but fell 78-68 on the road Saturday.
The Tigers (8-9, 1-3) had four players score in double figures, led by Justin Williams, who had 14 points. Jason Jitoboh tacked on 11 points, six rebounds, two steals and three blocks and Ej Bellinger chipped in as well with 11 points.
Led by Kinyon Hodges' four offensive rebounds, Tennessee State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 14 boards that resulted in 12 second-chance points.
How It Happened
Tennessee State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 42-31 heading into halftime.
Tennessee State narrowed its deficit to 44-34 before going on a 5-0 run, finished off by Bellinger's layup, to shrink the deficit to 44-39 with 17:37 to go in the contest. Morehead State responded and outscored the Tigers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 78-68. Tennessee State made the most of nine offensive rebounds to tack on 10 second-chance points out of 37 total in the period.
