SAINT CHARLES, Mo. — Tennessee State volleyball lost to Lindenwood in three sets (16-25, 21-25, 15-25) on Friday evening.
The loss dropped Tennessee State's record to 5-18 overall and 1-9 in OVC play.
Jazmin Vergara finished with eight kills on the day to lead the Tigers offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .286. got eight digs from Janke Pretorius to lead them defensively.
How It Happened
SET 1 | The Tigers found themselves in an early deficit, losing a tough first set 25-16. Tennessee State trailed by as many as 10 points as Lindenwood never gave up the lead in a set that was tied up zero times before the Lions took control.
SET 2 | A 25-21 set-two loss put Tennessee State in a 2-0 hole in the match. Lindenwood grabbed the advantage for good at 22-21 in a set that was tied up seven times before the Lions took over in the second half of the stanza.
SET 3 | Tennessee State couldn't prolong the match and lost in set number three. The Tigers fell behind on the first point and fought from behind the rest of the way before losing the set 25-15.
