FISK BY THE NUMBERS —
Season Opening Wins: With a victory over Fisk, head coach Penny Collins improved to 4-3 in season openers with TSU men's basketball.
26-14: Ronald Jessamy led TSU with a game-high 23 points, shooting 8-of-11 from the field and 7-of-11 from the free-throw line. He also recorded a team-high 14 rebounds, six of them offensive, for a double-double. Jessamy added two assists and two blocks to complete a dominant performance.
Mr. Versatility: Carlous Williams contributed 21 points on 9-of-14 shooting, including 3-of-6 from three-point range. He added seven rebounds and two assists, providing pivotal scoring and rebounding that helped TSU control the pace.
New Sheriff: Justus Jackson scored 16 points, including four 3-pointers, and recorded a team-high seven assists. He also grabbed seven rebounds and notched a steal, playing a key role in TSU's transition game and defensive intensity.
Weston Bullseye: Brandon Weston scored 13 points on 3-of-6 shooting and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. He also pulled down eight rebounds, impacting both ends of the floor and adding composure at the line.
Inside Job: Ahmir Langlais scored 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting, with three rebounds and three assists, showcasing his efficiency and control in the paint.
The Majority: TSU shot 51.5% from the field, including 9-of-31 from three-point range. They out-rebounded Fisk with 52 total boards (17 offensive), leading to numerous second-chance points. The Tigers tallied 25 assists, demonstrating strong ball movement while committing only 13 turnovers.
