Men's Basketball Falls 84-60 to Western Kentucky

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The Tennessee State men's basketball team got an 22-point showing Brandon Weston, but fell 84-60 to the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers on Tuesday at E.A. Dibble Arena. 

The Tigers (3-7) had three players score in double figures, led by Weston. Justus Jackson added 11 points and six rebounds, while Travis Harper II contributed 10 points off the bench.

Led by Josh Ogundele's two offensive rebounds, Tennessee State did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 14 boards that resulted in 14 second chance points.

How It Happened

Tennessee State struggled out of the gate, falling behind 44-31 heading into halftime.

Western Kentucky kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 75-48 advantage before Tennessee State went on a 6-0 run to shrink the deficit to 75-54 with 6:16 to go in the contest. Western Kentucky responded and outscored the Tigers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 84-60. Tennessee State got a boost from its bench in the period, as non-starters accounted for eight of its 29 total points.
