Men's Basketball Set to Close Home Slate With SIUE on Senior Day

OPENING TIP: Having secured a spot in the Ohio Valley Conference tournament, the Tennessee State men's basketball program will welcome SIUE to the Gentry Center on Saturday for its final home matchup of the season. Both teams come into tomorrow's contest with identical records.

SERIES INFORMATION: This will be the 20th all-time meeting between TSU and SIUE. The Tigers hold a 13-6 lead in the series. The Tigers picked up a 100-85 win at home in last year's second matchup as Jr. Clay scored 40 points.

EIU NOTES & NUMBERS:
 
2.95: The number of blocks that Jason Jitoboh is averaging per outing. Jitoboh is fourth in the nation with 2.95 swats per outing as he just qualified after playing in his 21st game against EIU. The Florida transfer finished with four blocks over EIU to push his total to 62 on the season.

CLINCHED A SPOT: TSU officially clinched a spot in the OVC tournament with their win over EIU. This marks the fourth time that head coach Brian "Penny" Collins has qualified for the tournament. This year's tournament will be played March 6-9 in Evansville, Ind., at the Ford Center.
 
HOME COOKING: Last night's win marked the 10th home win of the season for the Tigers, marking the third time coach Collins has logged 10+ home wins. TSU will look to match the 11 home wins in the 19-20 season with a win over SIUE tomorrow.
 
THE LOCAL KID: Jaylen Jones had a bounce-back scoring performance after being held under his 9.5 average the last four games. The freshman from Nashville tallied 16 points and five assists in the win over the Panthers. He knocked down three shots from beyond the arc while playing in 29 minutes off the bench.
