Men's Tennis Blanks Lindenwood for First Conference Win

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's tennis team (4-15, 1-0) cruised to a 7-0 victory over Lindenwood for its first Horizon League win of the season on Friday afternoon at Hadley Park.
 
The Tigers started the afternoon by claiming the doubles point over LWU to take an early 1-0 lead heading into singles. Jonasz Dziopak / Daniel Caraball won 6-2 at line two, while Rohan Loubser / Taj Hibbert earned a 6-3 victory in the three spot. Diego Britt-Alvarez / Nil Moinet had a slight 4-3 lead at line one as TSU wrapped up doubles play, giving the Tigers a clean slate in doubles.
 
TSU carried its momentum into the singles portion of the match, winning in straight sets at all six lines. Dziopak cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 1 while Caraballo had an identical score at line two.

Hibbert claimed a 6-2, 6-1 win in the third spot followed by Britt-Alvarez at No. 4 who won 6-2, 6-4. Moinet downed his opponent 6-2, 6-0 while the freshman Loubser cruised to a 6-1, 6-0 win at line six.
 
TSU will travel across town tomorrow afternoon to take on Belmont. Tomorrow's match is slated to start at 2:30 p.m. and it will mark the second straight Horizon League match for the Tigers.
