Men's Basketball Signs Ahmir Langlais

NASHVILLE — The Tennessee State men's basketball program has bolstered its roster with the addition of Ahmir Langlais, a 6-foot-9, 225-pound forward from South Carolina Upstate.

Head coach Brian "Penny" Collins announced the signing of Langlais, who hails from Atlanta, Ga., bringing in a player with experience and versatility to the team.

"Ahmir Langlais is a fantastic addition to our program," said Collins. "His size, athleticism, and skill set will make an immediate impact on both ends of the floor. We're excited to welcome him to the Tiger family and see him contribute to our success."

Langlais brings with him a wealth of collegiate experience, having spent two seasons at Western Carolina University before transferring to South Carolina Upstate for three seasons. During his time at Western Carolina in the 2020-21 season, he showcased his potential, averaging 2.9 points and 2.5 rebounds per game while shooting 50.8% from the field.

Upon transferring to USC Upstate, Langlais continued to make strides in his game, demonstrating improvement each season. In his senior campaign in the 2023-24 season, he posted impressive numbers, averaging 8.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game while shooting 55.1% from the field. The Georgia native played in 29 games with 21 starts, while finishing the season with 254 points and 179 boards. He scored in double figures 15 times while logging four double-doubles. 

Throughout his collegiate career, Langlais has played in 108 games with 27 starts and has tallied 595 points and 423 rebounds while shooting 57.4% from the field.
