Men's Basketball Signs Two for Upcoming Season

NASHVILLE – The Tennessee State men's basketball roster continues to grow as head coach Brian "Penny" Collins has announced the signing of two additional players for the upcoming season. Justus Jackson (UT Martin) and Antoine Lorick (Navarro College) will join the 2024-25 roster, becoming the 8th and 9th signees for TSU.
 
Justus Jackson | G | 6'1" | Hawaii / UT Martin | Surprise, Ariz. 

Justus Jackson comes to Nashville after spending two years at the University of Hawaii (2021-23), and one year at UT Martin (2023-24). The 6'1" guard has played in 59 career games after playing in 39 at UH and 20 at UTM.
 
He amassed 109 points, 33 rebounds, 30 assists, and eight steals while averaging 11.4 minutes per outing as a Rainbow Warrior. He played in 29 games in 2022-23, scoring in double figures on three separate occasions.
 
The Arizona native played in 20 games while starting in five this past season for the Skyhawks. He finished the season with 139 total points (7.0 ppg), 40 assists (2.0), and 35 boards. Jackson scored a season-high 18 in the season opener and finished in double figures on seven occasions.
 
"Justus is a veteran guard with OVC experience," stated Collins. "His ability to score and to run the team will be vital to our team's success this upcoming season."
 

Antoine Lorick | F | 6'7" | Navarro JC | Augusta, Ga.

Antoine Lorick, 6'7" forward from Augusta, Ga., joins the team after spending this past season at Navarro Junior College. Lorick played in 29 games for the Bulldogs as a freshman and averaged 10.6 ppg and 5.0 boards in a talented JUCO conference. The Georgia native finished with a season-high 24 points against both Richland College and Coastal Bend College while finishing with 20+ points on five occasions. He finished in double figures 15 times and logged one double-double.

In high school, he starred for the Cross Creek Razorbacks. During his senior season, Lorick averaged 18.5 points, 11.2 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks. He earned pre- and post-season all-state honors from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and all-area honors from the Augusta Chronicle. Over a 124-game varsity career for a program that went 96-28, Lorick averaged 12.2 points and 7.7 rebounds.
 
"Antoine is one of the top JUCO freshman in the country," said coach Collins. "His athleticism and skill set will be heavily needed for this roster. His energy will be contagious as soon as he hits the court."
