HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Tennessee State men's and women's cross country teams continued their 2025 campaign at the UAH Chargers Invitational on Saturday morning at John Hunt Park, taking on one of the deepest collegiate fields in the South region. The meet featured more than 30 programs across multiple divisions, offering valuable experience as the Tigers near championship season.
Men's 8K
The TSU men earned a 23rd-place team finish, highlighted by another strong performance from Robert Hooper, who paced the Tigers for the third straight meet. The junior clocked a 25:58.6 to place 77th overall, setting the tone early and leading TSU's scoring five.
Freshman Aaron Davis followed with a 29:27.3, while Delton White (30:44.7) and Zavier Williams (31:10.9) continued to build consistency through the middle of the pack. Landon Thrasher (31:16.9) and Kylen Thorps (36:34.0) rounded out the lineup as the Tigers finished with a team total of 2:28:38 and an average time of 29:43 per runner.
Women's 6K
On the women's side, the Lady Tigers displayed steady growth and teamwork across the 6K course, finishing 26th overall in the team standings. Junior Sydney McGee led TSU with a 27:43.3 (7:26 per mile), setting a new personal best and improving her previous season mark by over a minute.
Freshman Quinn Hudson crossed next in 29:06.1, followed by Haley Blades (30:04.8) and Madison Smith (30:38.6). Giah Thomas (31:11.4), Kaymin Sales (35:43.1), and Maleia Ali (35:47.2) rounded out the Lady Tigers' top seven, helping the group post a team total of 2:28:43 with an average time of 29:44.
