NASHVILLE – Tennessee State volleyball returns home to Kean Hall this weekend for a two-match Ohio Valley Conference series against Eastern Illinois. The Tigers host the Panthers on Friday at 5 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. for their final home matches of the 2025 season.
The Tigers (1-26, 0-14 OVC) look to close their home slate on a high note after a competitive showing last weekend against Southeast Missouri. TSU battled throughout both matches, highlighted by a strong defensive effort and balanced offensive production. Senior setter Sagaia Reilly continues to direct the Tigers' attack, recording 19 assists and steadying the offense in Saturday's matchup.
Freshman Aliyah Harris remains a standout performer on the pins, leading the team in total kills this season. Maygan Miller-Garcia continues to be a presence at the net, contributing both offensively and defensively, while Eirini Bitsaktsi anchors the back row as TSU's digs leader. Brie Blevins and Sydni Poston add experience and energy to the rotation as the Tigers look to carry their momentum into the weekend.
Eastern Illinois (13-12, 9-5 OVC) enters the series tied for third in the conference standings and riding a stretch of strong late-season play. The Panthers feature a balanced lineup led by outside hitter Kaitlyn Flynn, one of the OVC's top offensive threats, and setter Bailey Chandler, who ranks among the league leaders in assists. EIU's quick tempo and consistent passing will test TSU's defense as the Tigers aim to defend their home court in the final weekend at Kean Hall.
Saturday's contest will also serve as Senior Day, as Tennessee State honors its senior class for their dedication and contributions to the program. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to join the celebration before first serve.
