MARTIN, TENN. — Tennessee State football fell 26-7 to UT Martin on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Skyhawks improved to 5-5 on the year and 5-1 in Ohio Valley Conference play, while the Tigers fell to 2-8 overall and 0-6 in conference matchups.
DeVaughn Slaughter led all Tigers rushers with 12 yards in the contest, picking up 12 yards per carry. Slaughter also added 34 receiving yards. Taveon Porter also added one yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Snap Reed reeled in seven catches for 50 yards.
Matthew Wilson showed out for the Tennessee State defense, totaling four tackles, 1.5 TFL, and 1.5 sacks. James Stewart added nine tackles, 3.5 TFL, and 1.5 sacks and Team had in the loss.
Tennessee State's defense held up against UT Martin's offense, giving up 339 total yards.
