NASHVILLE — Tennessee State softball fell to Belmont 11-0 in a mid-wekk contest on Wednesday.
Tianna Salcido (1-2) started and took the loss in the circle for Tennessee State (4-5).
HOW IT HAPPENED
Tennessee State did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Tigers went 0-for-1 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the fifth, when Anayah Baker-Rowell made it into scoring position with one out.
GAME NOTES
» Tennessee State pitchers faced 25 Belmont hitters in the game, allowing three ground balls and seven fly balls while striking out two.
» Baker-Rowell led the Tigers at the plate, going 0-for-1.
» Belmont was led offensively by freshman Rylee Spindler, who went 1-for-1 with a double and three RBI.
» Johnson led the Bruins pitching staff, throwing five shutout innings.
