NASHVILLE - The Tennessee State volleyball team opened the 2025 preseason by hosting Trevecca Nazarene. Although the Tigers put up a fight, the Trojans took the match 3-0.

Aliyah Harris finished with nine kills on the day to lead the Tigers offense while finishing with a hitting percentage of .571. got eight digs from Sydni Poston to lead them defensively.

How It Happened

SET 1 | The Lady Tigers found themselves in an early hole, dropping a tough first set 25-14. Tennessee State trailed by as many as 13 points as Trevecca Nazarene grabbed the advantage for good at 4-3 in a set that was notted up four times before the Trojans took control.

SET 2 | Tennessee State fell in the second set 25-23, digging a 2-0 hole in the match. The Lady Tigers couldn't hang on in a back-and-forth set, losing in a stanza that featured one lead change and was tied 10 times. Neither team led by more than four points along the way.

SET 3 | Tennessee State was not able to win set three and was swept by Trevecca Nazarene. The Lady Tigers fell in a back-and-forth battle, losing 25-22 in a set that featured seven lead changes and was tied 15 times. Neither team had a lead of more than three points along the way.
