Take Two: Men's Basketball Welcomes Tennessee Tech on Monday

OPENING TIP: Tennessee State concludes its two-game season series with departing OVC member Tennessee Tech on Monday evening in a game rescheduled from Jan. 26 due to Winter Storm Fern. The Tigers are riding momentum from a thrilling final five-minute comeback against Little Rock, while the Golden Eagles dropped a matchup with the Trojans on Saturday.

SERIES INFORMATION VS TENNESSEE TECH: Tennessee State leads the all-time series 42-39. TSU took the first game of the season series 88-76 on Dec. 30. Travis Harper led the way tying a program-best nine three pointers and 29 points. Antoine Lorrick III added 15 points and Dante Harris had 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds. Jalen Pitre finished with a double-double 11 points and 15 rebounds. 

BLACKJACK: Tennessee State has recorded its most wins (14) through 21 games since the 2015–16 season. That Tigers squad went 5–3 over the remainder of the regular season to finish 20–11 overall, suffered a loss to No. 8 seed Austin Peay in the OVC Tournament quarterfinals as the No. 4 seed, and later hosted Ball State before falling in the first round of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament (CIT).

THROUGH 11 OVC GAMES: Tennessee State's 8–3 Ohio Valley Conference record through 11 games in 2025–26 stands tied for the program's second-best OVC start at that point, trailing only the 1992–93 team (10–1). That 1992–93 squad earned the No. 1 seed in the OVC Tournament and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. The 1993–94 Tigers also opened league play at 8–3, earned the No. 2 seed in the OVC Tournament, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament, while the 1994–95 team started 8–3, claimed the No. 1 seed in the OVC Tournament, and fell in the OVC semifinals.
