Jackson Leads Softball Against USI

EVANSVILLE, IND – The Tennessee State softball team wrapped up their weekend in Evansville, Ind. falling to Southern Indiana 1-6. With this, the Tigers fall to 0-13 on the season, and 0-3 in conference play.  

Tianna Salcido got the start for TSU, pitching 2.0 innings, and giving up three runs on two hits. Miriam Gordon came in relief in the top of the 3rd inning, throwing 2.0 innings, giving up three runs on three hits. Kristian Holder finished in the circle, pitching 2.0 scoreless innings.  

Jace Jackson led the Tigers offensively with two hits, and a 7th inning homerun. Kailyn Jean-Baptiste held the defense with 11 putouts on the day. 

USI got on the board first with three runs in the bottom of the 1st and 4th innings. The Tigers had momentum going into the top of the 7th as a two-out solo shot dead center for Jackson. Two walks and a single loaded the bases, until the Screaming Eagles got the final out of the game.  

The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday, March 14th as they take on Tennesee Tech at 1 and 3 p.m.
