Clairwin Dameus | Women's Track and Field | 2012-16
Clairwin Dameus is widely regarded as one of the most decorated student-athletes in Tennessee State track and field history, earning national recognition as an elite multi-event competitor from 2012-16. A trailblazer for the Tigers, Dameus became the first Tennessee State student-athlete to be named Ohio Valley Conference Female Athlete of the Year following a historic senior campaign in 2015-16. She concluded her career as Tennessee State's first two-time NCAA Division I First Team All-American, earning USTFCCCA First Team All-America honors in the indoor long jump and pentathlon in 2016 after placing sixth and eighth, respectively, at the NCAA Indoor Championships. Dameus captured three consecutive OVC Indoor Championship MVP honors from 2014-16 and amassed an extraordinary collection of conference titles, winning OVC championships in the pentathlon, heptathlon, long jump, 400-meter hurdles, and as a member of championship relay teams. Her versatility was unmatched, earning All-America recognition in the long jump, pentathlon, heptathlon, and relay events while qualifying for multiple NCAA Championships and East Preliminary competitions. Internationally, Dameus represented her native Haiti and earned a silver medal in the heptathlon at the 2016 NACAC Under-23 Championships. A standout in the classroom and in competition, she was recognized as a USTFCCCA All-Academic Team selection and OVC Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient. By the end of her remarkable career, Dameus had established herself as one of the premier athletes in conference history and one of the greatest women's track and field performers ever to wear the Tennessee State uniform.
