Men’s Basketball Renews In-State Feud With Tennessee on November 13

NASHVILLE — Tennessee State men's basketball will travel to Knoxville to face in-state opponent Tennessee on November 13, renewing a series between the Tigers and Volunteers.

The contest will mark the eighth meeting between the programs. Tennessee owns a 7-0 advantage in the all-time series.

The teams last met in Knoxville last season, when the Volunteers earned an 89-60 victory. Aaron Nkrumah led the Tigers with a game-high 19 points, five assists and three steals, while Travis Harper II added 17 points, five rebounds and two steals. Antoine Lorick III contributed 12 points off the bench as the trio accounted for 80 percent of Tennessee State's scoring.

Tennessee State forced 17 turnovers, collected 12 offensive rebounds and recorded assists on 61 percent of its made baskets. After trailing 43-21 at halftime, the Tigers scored 39 second-half points and used a late 9-0 run to cut into Tennessee's lead.

The Tigers will return to Knoxville on November 13 seeking their first victory in the series.
