Scott Baumgartner is joined Tennessee State as a wide receivers coach in March 2023.
Baumgartner is no stranger to the Mountain West Conference as he spent over a decade between UNLV, New Mexico and Nevada in various positions.
With the Running Rebels, Baumgartner worked with the running backs which saw two 1,000-yard rushers during the post-covid seasons. In his last season in Vegas, Baumgartner added special teams to his duties.
Before making the trek to Sin City, Baumgartner spent five seasons working with the WR unit at New Mexico and two seasons with the running backs.
Baumgartner then spent nine seasons (2004-12) at Reno coaching seven of those seasons as the wide receivers coach.
Prior to his time out west, Baumgartner, who has more than three decades of college coaching experience, spent eight years coaching receivers, quarterbacks and special teams at Central Missouri State. He also spent four seasons as an assistant coach at West Valley College in Saratoga, California, and started his collegiate coaching career in 1988 at his alma mater, Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon, where he was an all-conference receiver after transferring from Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.
