Dusty Bennett

Dusty Bennett is in his second year with Tennessee State, joining the Tigers in April of 2021. As Executive Associate AD for Administration and Capital Projects, Bennett directs and oversees all internal operation aspects of the Athletics Department. In addition to providing daily administrative support to the Director of Athletics, Bennett serves as the Chief of Staff for Football and is responsible for managing the athletic facilities' master plan and capital projects.  

Bennett serves as sport supervisor for men's and women's golf along with direct oversight of equipment services, student services, sports medicine, and sports performance. He assists the Director of Athletics with sport supervision of football and is involved with strategic planning, budgeting, and policy development for the Department of Athletics. 

Before being promoted to Executive Associate AD for Administration and Capital Projects, Bennett was hired as Eddie George's Chief of Staff for Football. As Chief of Staff for Football, Bennett coordinated and provided internal and external support for football-related matters including budgeting, operations, academics, compliance, marketing, fundraising, and community outreach.

Before Tennessee State, Bennett served as director of football operations at the University of New Mexico.  He oversaw the day-to-day operations of the football program including matters related to travel, budgeting, fundraising, marketing, facilities, contracts, and game schedules. Additionally, he served as the liaison between the football program and many campus constituents including academics, finance, and compliance while aiding in practice planning and oversight of all office personnel.

Bennett also spent time at the Mount Vernon School and Georgia State University. Bennett was a four-year member of the Georgia State University baseball team from 2005-08. After receiving his bachelor's degree from Georgia State in May 2008, he went on to complete his master's in Sports Administration from Georgia State in 2009.

A native of Tyrone, Ga. He and his wife, Reanna, have four children, Dustin, Carson, Blake, and Emerson.
