Kyle enters his first season as the head men's and women's tennis coach at Tennessee State University in 2026, returning to his alma mater after previously competing for the Tigers as a student-athlete.

A Nashville native, Kyle brings nearly a decade of involvement in the tennis community to Tennessee State, including coaching, player development and service with the United States Tennis Association.

Kyle played collegiately at Tennessee State, where he developed into one of the Tigers' top performers. During his senior season, he led TSU with 10 singles victories, finishing 10-3 overall and 9-2 in dual matches. He posted an 8-2 record at No. 5 singles and went 3-2 against Ohio Valley Conference opponents.

In doubles competition, Kyle tied for the team lead with nine victories and finished 9-5 overall. He teamed with Tom Vanden Broeck-Parant to post an 8-4 record, including an 8-3 mark at No. 2 doubles.

Kyle also excelled academically during his time at Tennessee State. He received the 2016-17 TSU Academic Excellence Award after recording the highest GPA among all male student-athletes. He earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from Tennessee State before completing a master's degree in sports administration.

Since 2017, Kyle has remained active in the development and advancement of tennis. He has served on USTA Tennessee Diversity and Inclusion committees in addition to serving on USTA Southern committees.

His work in the sport earned recognition in 2026 when he was named the Professional Tennis Registry Tennis Coach of the Year for Tennessee, honoring his impact and contributions as a coach and leader.

In addition to his work within organized tennis, Kyle has remained committed to developing junior and adult players and using the sport as an avenue for personal growth and opportunity.

Kyle returns to Tennessee State with an emphasis on developing student-athletes academically, athletically and personally while building both Tiger tennis programs.

Kyle and his wife, DeAnna, have one son, Kyle Jr.
