Lynn Curylo is entering her second season as the Assistant Softball Coach for the Tigers.  Curylo's passion and knowledge of the game played an instrumental role in guiding the 2007 Tigers to their first winning season in the programs existence. Last season, Curylo worked primarily with the outfield and oversaw the offense.  As a result of her efforts, the Tigers eclipsed TSU single season records in both hits and RBIs.  Curylo also worked closely with the 2007 pitching staff, which boasted two individual pitchers that broke the single season record (11) with 17 and 16 wins, respectively.  Additionally, Tiger hurlers Amanda Vaught and Stephanie Kemme threw the first no-hitters in school history, within a four day period. The TSU pitching staff set a school ERA record, while leading the OVC with a 1.98 ERA.  

Curylo joined the Tigers in the fall of 2006, after a six-year stint as the Head Softball Coach and a Science Teacher at Millikan High School in Long Beach, CA, where she led her team to two conference championships and a C.I.F. Southern Section title in 2005. 

She earned her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she enjoyed a stellar softball career  and was a member of the 1994 team that participated in the College World Series.  She was also a two time All-Midwestern Collegiate Conference first team selection as an outfielder.

“It is great to have Lynn back for the 2008 season,” stated Head Coach Joyce Maudie.  “That continuity is so important to our program.  Lynn has such an impressive background as a former player and has been very successful in the coaching ranks.  She is an outstanding teacher and relates very well with the student-athletes.  Lynn was such a key part of this program’s success in 2007 and I am looking forward to working with her again this year as we strive to advance the TSU softball program.”  Curylo will work primarily with the outfielders and catchers and will oversee hitting and base running.  She will also be very involved with recruiting and administrative duties.
