Biography

  • Overcame incredible odds to return from multiple eye surgeries to return to action for his senior season in 2022-23.
  • Appeared in 83 games as a Gator with 11 starts, totaling 221 points, 125 rebounds and 42 blocked shots with a .583 field goal percentage.

2022-23 (Florida): Played a career-high 32 games with seven starts, averaging 3.1 points and 1.5 rebounds per game … Started the final seven games of the season following Colin Castleton’s injury, averaging 5.7 points and 2.1 rebounds in 20.1 minutes per game as a starter … Posted a career-high four blocked shots and three assists in the win at Georgia, adding four points … Had eight points and three blocked shots in the SEC Tournament vs. Mississippi State. 

2021-22 (Florida): Averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 18 appearances with four starts before suffering a season-ending eye injury on Jan. 26 at Tennessee … After trending upwards with productive minutes vs. Maryland and USF, Jitoboh put it all together with a career day vs. Stony Brook, posting 12 points and seven rebounds … Made his first career start in the win vs. Mississippi State, battling through early foul trouble to post eight second-half points and a pair of blocked shots … Posted his first career double-figure rebounding game with 10 boards to go along with eight points in the win vs. Vanderbilt … Shot 6-for-6 with 12 points at Ole Miss, the most made field goals without a miss by a Gator in two years.

2021-21 (Florida): Appeared in 12 games, recording 11 points and seven rebounds … Played a season-high 13 minutes in the win vs. Tennessee, recording two points and three rebounds as the Gators took down the sixth-ranked Vols … Scored a season-high five points in the SEC Tournament vs. Tennessee.

2019-20 (Florida) … Averaged 1.8 points and 1.3 rebounds in 21 appearances … Scored a season-high six points in the victory vs. LSU, shooting 3-for-3 from the field … Had three points and four rebounds in UF’s victory at Texas A&M … Showed steady improvement throughout the campaign. After playing in 10 of Florida’s first 20 games, Jitoboh appeared in the final 11 games of the season as a regular part of the frontcourt rotation.

High School: Helped Hamilton Heights to a 34-4 record and a Top 25 finish in MaxPreps’ national rankings … Averaged 10.1 points and 5.6 rebounds on the Nike EYBL circuit in the summer of 2018 … Helped lead Hamilton Heights to back-to-back NACA championships, named NACA Defensive Player of the Year and first-team all-conference. 

Personal: Son of Moses and Barabara Jitoboh and has one sister, Jessica, and three brothers: Prince, Joshua and Jonathan.
