Jared Brown joined the Tennessee State Strength and Conditioning staff in June of 2021 as the Sports Performance Coach for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Basketball, Men’s Golf, and Women’s Golf.

Brown is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist certified through the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He is also Titleist Performance Institute Certified for Golf.

Prior to arriving at TSU, Brown spent the previous 2 years at the University of Alabama Birmingham as an Athletic Performance Coach where he worked with multiple sports including Track & Field, Cross Country, Men’s Golf, and Women’s Golf. While at UAB, Brown helped prepare the Men’s Golf team to compete at the NCAA Regionals and NCAA Nationals tournaments in 2021.

Brown got his collegiate coaching career start at Coastal Carolina University as an intern Athletic Performance Coach. Before entering college coaching, he spent 4 years coaching at the high school level at Northside High School in North Carolina. There, Brown spent time as a head and assistant varsity coach for basketball, soccer, and tennis and designed the strength and conditioning programs for each of those teams.

A native of Moscow, Pennsylvania, Brown earned his bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Penn State in 2012 and his master’s degree in Kinesiology from Georgia Southern in 2018.
