Darren Mustin joined the Tennessee State Strength and Conditioning staff in 2021 and is responsible for volleyball and track and field. 

Prior to arriving at TSU, Mustin made various stops at USC, UMass, Nebraska, Dartmouth and Army.

Mustin also spent time with D1 Sports Training as its certified strength and speed coach (2008-10), facility coordinator, and head strength and speed coach (2012-13), and served as the head strength coach for the NFL Combine training (2013).

Mustin played linebacker at Middle Tennessee State and then in 2006 and 2007 at Alabama, serving as the Crimson Tide’s co-captain in 2007 and won the team’s Most Inspirational and Bear Bryant awards.

Mustin received his bachelor’s degree in human environmental studies from Alabama in 2007 and is married to Helena La Guardia Marcondes Mustin.
