Former NFL safety and Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson brings a wealth of experience and championship pedigree to the Tennessee State football coaching staff, serving as the Tigers’ safeties coach.

Jackson was named Super Bowl XXXVII MVP after recording two interceptions in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 48-21 win over the Oakland Raiders. He played 10 seasons in the NFL, primarily with the Buccaneers, and also had stints with the Arizona Cardinals and Cincinnati Bengals. Over his career, Jackson totaled 17 interceptions and more than 450 tackles.

A native of Quincy, Florida, Jackson played collegiately at Florida State from 1995 to 1998. He earned second-team All-ACC honors as a junior and senior, finishing his Seminoles career with 194 tackles, seven interceptions, 16 pass breakups and four blocked field goals.

Following his NFL career, Jackson turned to coaching and player development. He previously worked with collegiate programs and community organizations, including the Tampa Housing Authority, where he focused on youth mentorship and leadership development.
