Toriano Morgan is in his first season as Co-Offensive Coordinator & Running Backs after serving as head coach at Edward Waters. With over 20 years of coaching experience at high school and collegiate institutions, Coach Morgan brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his role at Tennessee State.

Throughout his coaching career, Coach Morgan has achieved remarkable success. He has coached 35 all-conference players and has helped send 13 players to the National Football League. Known for his innovative and creative approach to the game, Coach Morgan is widely regarded as one of the most talented minds in collegiate football.

Coach Morgan's accomplishments have not gone unnoticed. In 2022, he was selected to participate in the NFL's Coaching Academy, a prestigious program that targets coaches who have excelled in their profession. He was also named to FootballScoop's Rising Star Coaches Watch List in the same year. Additionally, Coach Morgan had the honor of being selected as the Head Coach for the nationally televised HBCU Pigskin All-Star Classic.

Coach Morgan has earned the nickname "Mr. 180" for his ability to turn programs around. Since taking over as the Head Coach at Edward Waters, he has transformed the program to monumental heights in a short period. Under his leadership, the Tigers achieved their first winning season in over two decades, posting a 6-4 record. In 2023, the Tigers entered the HBCU national polls for the first time as a full-fledged SIAC member, ranking #8 in the nationally recognized BoxToRow, HBCU Sports, and HBCU D2 polls.

The offense under Coach Morgan's guidance has become explosive and record-setting. Quarterback Jyron Russell became Edward Waters' Modern Day All-Time Leading passer, averaging over 300 yards per game in his career. Russell was also named the BoxToRow National Player of the Week for his outstanding performance against Tuskegee. Additionally, Johnny Jones received All-American honors at the end of the season, further showcasing the success of Coach Morgan's offensive strategies.

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Coach Morgan has returned to his home state after spending two seasons as the Assistant Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach at Virginia State University. During his tenure at VSU, the Trojans achieved an 8-2 overall record and a second-place finish in the CIAA's Northern Division. Coach Morgan's offense ranked in the top 10 in the nation in multiple statistical categories, further solidifying his reputation as an exceptional coach.

Prior to his time at Virginia State University, Coach Morgan served as the Head Coach at Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, where he restored the program to prominence. He also had a successful four-year stint as the Associate Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator at Virginia Union University, where he directed a prolific offense that set multiple program records.

Coach Morgan's coaching career began in 2002 as a graduate assistant at his Alma Mater, Tennessee State University. As a player, he had a standout career at TSU, helping lead the team to back-to-back Ohio Valley Conference Championships and consecutive FCS playoff appearances. Morgan was also voted team captain in his final season.

Off the field, Coach Morgan is married to his wife Adeline Morgan and has a son named Zaiden.
