NASHVILLE --- In a down-to-the-minute heartbreaker, Tennessee State men's basketball fell to Tennessee Tech, 66-64 in the Ohio Valley Conference opener Thursday night in the Gentry Center.
With seven-tenths of a second left in the game and Tennessee State down by three, Tripp Davis heads to the free throw line to shoot two. Davis sinks the first shot. The guard lobs the second shot at the rim while Stokley Chaffee, Jr. goes up for the offensive rebound and put-back only for the ball to edge off the rim as the time expired.
Armani Chaney led the team in scoring for the second time this season with 15 points, and was one of three to score double-digits against Tennessee Tech.
The Tigers drop to 3-10 on the season, 0-1 in league play, while the Golden Eagles improve to 5-9, 1-0 OVC.
