NASHVILLE ---Â The Tennessee State University women's basketball team fell to Austin Peay, 76-58, Thursday night in the Dunn Center.
Tennessee State (2-15, 0-7 OVC) got off to a slow start and fell behind by as many as 21 points in the first half. TSU struggled for most of the game but put together an 11-0 run in the fourth quarter to cut into the lead. The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Govs in the fourth quarter and nearly cut the deficit to single digits down the stretch but the effort came up short. Â
Jazmine Young led TSU in scoring with 20 points while Taylor Roberts finished with nine.

- TSU shot 50.0 percent from the field in the fourth quarter and 40.8 percent from the floor for the game.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- TSU got on the board first with a free-throw from Keniece Purvis but a 10-0 run from Austin Peay saw the Lady Tigers fall behind 10-3.
- Taylor Roberts got a steal and breakaway layup to end TSU's scoring drought with about six and a half minutes on the clock.
- APSU made 5-of-7 from three-point range and at the end of the first period, TSU trailed, 24-16.
- The Lady Govs continued their hot shooting from beyond the arc  and stretched the advantage to, 36-17, behind a 12-0 run.
- TSU was outscored 23-12 in the second stanza and trailed by 47-28 at halftime.
- The Lady Tigers started the third quarter with a 7-2 spurt to chip away at the deficit.
- The visitors managed to pull to close the gap down to 15 points but the home team regained a 20-point advantage with two minutes left in the third.
- Heading into the fourth quarter, TSU was down 63-39.
- In the fourth, TSU posted 11 unanswered points to slice the APSU lead down to 66-51.
- The Lady Tigers held the Lady Govs to five points through the first five minutes of the fourth stanza but could not take advantage of the APSU drought.Â
